Mitsubishi Motors and Meridian will be hosting two i MiEVs from mid January to April 2009. Our goal is to share the driving experience and build excitement about the prospect of becoming a leader on the world stage in the expansion and development of personal electric transport. During their time in New Zealand, the i MiEVs will be visiting Auckland, Hamilton, Christchurch and Wellington. EVs are not science fiction, they are a practical alternative here and now. Other countries have already embraced the infrastructure to support this technology. For example London has installed EV charging stations for the 2012 Olympics and Paris has charging stations in place for their electric vehicle programme.

The i MiEV will go on sale in Japan in summer of 2009, and together we would like to provide New Zealanders with the chance to get this technology for their own personal transport, when it becomes available.
