Fuso leads 2010 sales race

Mitsubishi Fuso Fighter - hard at work
Fuso Trucks lead the 2010 heavy commercial vehicle sales race, squeezing past the competition with a number-one performance in June.
National sales manager Roger White said that the brand is well positioned to continue the success in the second half of the year "Our Fuso dealers have worked exceptionally hard for this result, it has not been an easy period and to come out on top is a direct reflection of the networks effort and the quality of our product," he said.
"There is a way to go until the year's end and we'll have to keep the effort up to hold the lead, however the platform is in place and we know what's required."
In June Fuso registered 46 units, 12 more than the previous market leader. The three-diamond brand has had particular success with its Canter range, while Fighter has also been popular.
"In respect of the market, Canter and Fighter volumes have been strong," said Roger. "Customers know the quality of these products and in times when they can least afford downtime and extra repair costs, proven reliability is invaluable.
"Canter holds a market-leading 37% share in the 3,501 - 7,500 kg light-duty truck segment," he said. "And we're now supplying free service parts for all new Canters, which adds extra strength to the offering."
Any Canter purchased between July and the end of 2010 will, for the first 200,000 km or 24 months of its working life, receive a selection of scheduled service parts valued at more than $4,000.
The offer includes 20 free oil filters and sump gaskets, ten fuel filters, five air filters and 36 axle seals at scheduled services in the first two years or 200,000 km.
